Class Title: The Stars at Night Felt Needlebook

Make a needle book that reminds you of the night sky near Marfa Texas, where you can see the milky way nearly every night and the view of the desert goes on for miles. Each student will be given a variety of cacti and flowers that were cut with precision dies. You will be encouraged to use as many or as few of the cut outs as you wish to create a one of a kind needle book. Not only will we will go over the basic stitches needed to complete the project but, we will also talk about using “crafty tools” to play with and embellish your needlework.

Technique: Surface Embroidery Design Area:  4 1/2" x 3 3/4"
Proficiency Level: All Kit Cost: $25
Pre-Work: None  

Kit Contents: 
Felt, needles, all threads.

Student Provides: Usual stitching supplies to include sharp embroidery scissors, and various needles.

Simply Roses

This is a lovely technique class. Learn the basics of forming beautiful roses with ribbon. We will make a full rose, rose bud, leaves, and stems. I will show you various applications for the assembly and display.

Technique: Silk Ribbon Embroidery Design Area: 4" x 3 1/2"
Proficiency Level: Beginner Kit Cost: $25

Kit Contents: 
Silk Shantung, Muslin, Batting, Hannah Silks in 1 inch, 1/2 inch and 4mm. Gloriana Silk Perle, wires, sewing thread in various colors, needles.

Student Provides:  6 inch excellent wood hoop with screw to tighten and bias tape wrapped inside hoop (such as Hardwicke Manor hoops). Requires scissors for floral wire, embroidery scissors, magnification, and lighting.

This bracelet is quick to make using size 11/0 Miyuki rocaille seed beads and Miyuki Tila beads! Make either the wide black and red band or the slimmer turquoise band.

Technique: Beading Design Area: 
Black bracelet is 1"
Turquoise is 3/4"

Bullion Roses

This class is an introduction to the bullion knot. The design is a simple heart decorated with bullion roses and daisy stitches. Depending on the skill level of the student, more embellishments can be added. The final project is a tri-fold card with the elegantly embroidered heart in the front.

Technique: Bullion & Daisy Stitches Design Area: 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Proficiency Level: Beginner Kit Cost: $25
Pre-Work: None  

Kit Contents: 
Card, Silk, floss and needle

Student Provides: Student need only bring normal stitching supplies. A hoop is not required for this project and is actually discouraged.
