The Shreveport Rose Stitchery Guild (SRSG) is the local chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America (EGA) and a member of the South Central Region (SCR). We are a group dedicated to the purpose of fostering the art of needlework and associated arts, which is defined as the process of forming textile designs using a needle with an eye. Some recent programs have included beading, needlepoint and canvas work, hardanger, blackwork and samplers, and various finishing techniques. We embrace both traditional and contemporary needlework as an art form.
You may attend twice as a visitor without being a dues-paying member. There are three meetings monthly: on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 10:00 at First United Methodist Church, 500 Common Street, Education and Administration Building, Room 315. We also meet the 3rd Saturday of each month, 10:00-2:00, at the Cedar Grove Branch of the Shreve Memorial Library, at 8303 Line Avenue. All meetings are handicap accessible.
Membership is open to anyone interested in these techniques and we encourage beginners to join. SRSG offers programs, lectures, stitch-ins, mini workshops, longer workshops with nationally known teachers, individual or group correspondence courses through national EGA and our region SCR, community outreach projects, and wonderful fellowship with other stitchers.
We invite you to become a part of our guild. Please contact
